JAMU at «The Lion's Den - Switzerland»
We at JAMU love to refine products and find creative solutions. But this time we embarked on a completely different adventure: We left our comfort zone and ventured in front of the cameras of "The Lion's Den - Switzerland"! It was a unique and exciting experience that not only gave us new insights into the world of television, but also showed us how much excitement lies behind such a pitch.
The morning before the pitch: A typical family chaos start
Of course we were incredibly nervous before it started. We were very excited, but we had prepared well for our performance. But as is the case with stressful family life, things always turn out differently than you think. On the morning of the recording, we had to make sure that the children arrived at school and kindergarten on time. In all the hustle and bustle, we actually left our perfectly ironed, color-coordinated outfits hanging at home! What a start to the day!
Our arrival at «The Lion's Den»
We finally arrived at the set a little more nervous than we expected. The thought that our fancy outfits were still hanging on the hanger at home didn't help to calm us down. But we quickly collected ourselves and remembered why we were here: to present JAMU and our innovative picture frames! After all, it's the passion for your product that counts, right?
Once we arrived in the "cave", we found ourselves in front of an impressive group of investors who were taking a close look at our JAMU picture frames. We had the chance to present our frames to five experienced entrepreneurs:
- Bettina Hein, tech entrepreneur with a passion for innovation
- Lukas Speiser, CEO and co-founder of Amorana
- Jürg Schwarzenbach, IT entrepreneur and owner of an investment company
- Felix Bertram, specialist in dermatology with a good eye for details
- Tom Zimmermann, shaped the IT industry in the education sector.
A report on my experience
Despite the initial mishap and our nervousness, we are overall satisfied with our performance. It was a unique experience that taught us a lot. The nervousness in front of the camera, the adrenaline rushing through our veins when we are standing in the "cave" - all of this showed us how important it is to always believe in your own product and to bravely face new challenges.
How did we fare?
We are still alive and have not been torn to pieces. :-)
It was a very exciting and thrilling experience. We didn't get a deal, however. But that's not a deal breaker for us. We can proudly say that we received consistently positive feedback from investors and viewers. We are already motivated to continue working on our JAMU picture frames.
