It's so easy to personalize your picture frame:

You need:

- painter's tape
- brush or paint roller
- Old newspapers to protect the base
- desired color

Step 1: Preparing the frame

Before you start painting, you need to thoroughly mask off the frame and the HDF backing. Use painter's tape to protect both the inside and outside of the frame. This will prevent unwanted paint splatters and ensure that your end result looks clean and professional.

Step 2: The paint

Now it's time to get colorful! Choose an acrylic paint in your desired color and start painting the frame. Acrylic paint is ideal because it covers well and dries quickly. You can use a matte, glossy or even metallic paint - whatever suits your taste and your interior.

 

Optional step: Sanding for a smooth surface

Sometimes it can happen that the wood fibers stand up slightly when painting and the surface becomes a little rough. That's not a problem! To achieve a particularly smooth surface, you can lightly sand the painted area with very fine sandpaper after it has dried. Then simply apply a thin, second coat of paint to achieve the perfect finish.

 

Step 3: Remove the tape and assemble the frame

After the paint has completely dried, you can carefully remove the painter's tape. Reassemble the frame by inserting the HDF backing board. Now your individually designed frame is ready for the next step: hanging and decorating.
